D&D 5E Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

Since Word of Recall specifies you have to serve a diety to use it, can a bard get this spell (and why/why not)?

Anything is possible ( its up to the DM) but the spell isn't on the bard class list and cannot generally be cast or read from a scroll. A custom magic item might allow any user to activate this power. If a bard were to use such an item then he/she would need to serve a deity. Being a cleric isn't a requirement to serve/worship a deity.

A) Bard can pick any spell since he has Magical Secrets.

B) Word of Recall specifically states:

You must designate a sanctuary by casting this spell within a location, such as a temple, dedicated to or strongly linked to your deity. If you attempt to cast the spell in this manner in an area that isn’t dedicated to your deity, the spell has no effect.

Bard has no deity -> no effect?

In the default Forgotten Realms setting, pretty much everybody has a patron deity.

Bard has no deity -> no effect?

You don't have to delete your account; just stop coming back.

That method also allows you to change your mind, should you find yourself in a less surly mood some other day.
