D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

One thing I haven’t particularly cared for is how sword’n’board is hard to pull off, given a dearth of long swords above +1 (hadn’t found a single +2 by Harper hideout).
I personally recommend the Shattered Flail from the Gnoll Boss + Periapt of Wound Closure. It's a rock solid +2 one hander with an occasionally iritating drawback that lets your melee straight up solo many fights.

A hasted Fighter can easily regain 36 HP on an action surge at 5th Level. Berserker can get 30 HP. Ranger with Hordebreaker can get 36 HP, and Ranger at 11th with Whirlwind can get... uh... 100+ HP, especially combined with Black Hole.

5-way achieved.

Not to thrilled to hear SH has been having dreams about Halsin.

And not even a cut scene just darkness and a description, where everything was about SH. Worship at MY temple.

Making everyone get dressed afterwards was a good detail.

There are plenty of good one-handed weapons available well before that, including a certain +3 mace. I found several really cool longswords towards the end of Act 1. And you can make your own in the Adamantine Forge. The gnoll flail is the first +2 weapon, Act 1 north.

Whilst reach weapons are very useful, I don't see any better itemisation for two handed weapons.
Yet the game seems written to push Shadowheart’s importance above every other NPC.
She is important in Act 1 because the has the McGuffin, and she is important in Act 2 because her personal quest is on the critical path, but her significance fades somewhat in Act 3. She has a personal quest, but it is one of many and not on the critical path.

Where's Drizzt when you need to murderhobo him for his stuff?
Yes! This is a Baldur's Gate tradition, gosh darnit.

At least you can exert authority over Minsc to make him murder Jaheira, then Boo, then use Speak With Dead to hear him weeping for his dead friends.

Mercer must have loved voice acting those lines.
