Considering just how awesome Battlefield 1942 was, I'm quite excited for Battlefield Vietnam.

Helicopters, especially, should be fun to fly.

cool battlefield 1942 is probably my faovrite game out there. My only disapointment is with the new expansions you rarely see older maps, and I still like a lot of the older maps, secret weapons still rocks though.

And hey thanks to the USA consatntly dismantling its sniper program in the past we still get to use bolt action rifles on the snipers. My thing I want changed sor tof is I kind a hope they let you earn points for healing/fixing. I mainly want my side to win so I'm happy to eat grenade while I patch up a tank my compatriates are driving, but dang I can easily get whacked 10 times without ever attacking anyone while I run around fixing things, and then my points go a falling. Active engenineer all the way(not sure if I prefer the shotgun or the rifle yet)

Now a vietnam game should have very different maps, wow maybe tunnels, dang this game could rock.

Less than two weeks to go until the retail version hits stores!

Only problem is that it's being released on the same day as Unreal Tournament 2004... so which of those two games should I play first?

Aren't there helicopters in the Desert Combat mod?

Yes there are, but they are very hard to fly. Thats because they are based on the airplane physics from BF1942. I heard they have a whole new engine for the Helio's for this game.
This game looks really good.
As for UT, I really liked the orginal UT, but UT2003 ruined it for me. Too many peole playing at high speed, jumping around, hard to hit. It was more luck if you hit someone then anything. There is no skill required there. I played the UT2004 demo, same thing. UT2004 will also have alot of hacks. There is already a hack out for the freakin' UT2004 demo. BF Vietnam will have punkbuster with it, so that will cut down on the cheating.
