Humorously enough, it is set between the 2E and 3E era, by the main writer of the BG video games who is now a WotC employee. At the time it seemed suspiciously random, but it was now pretty clearly made to allow people who haven't followed FR lore for 20 years but picked up the Adventure because they loved the video games.

I feel like we may be talking about two different adventures. This is the one I'm talking about. It dropped during the "Next" playtest.

The one I think you are talking about is Heros of Baldurs Gate. That one in fact does take place in a different era.

I are confused, herpaderp.

I'd think a large amount will be different, to account for the events of that Adventure.

Lol it's all good. I do want the Heros of Baldurs Gate but I think I missed the bus with that one. I cant find it anywhere, not even in pdf form. Unless I'm not looking hard enough. I'd prefer the POD version though.

I thought it was. I couldn't locate it. I found the article about it on here and tried to follow that link but no luck. If anyone can find it please let me know. Not sure why they would lock it up if they did. Should have bought it back then.

He literally linked the book in that post you quoted here? You can get it in PDF, physical, or both.
