Since the Fox X-Men aren't likely to survive these two movies, Disney is probably currying a lot of favor with Tatum by giving him his shot and maybe even a decent sized supporting role before they off him. And lots of superhero movie fans will be excited to see him in the role.
My worry is that this is just their way to tip the hat to the original x X-Men actors (plus gambit) and then send them off into void. I think they will be in this less than the Illuminati was in Dr Strange.

Yeah, there's a definite possibility that we just see them fighting Doom (or whatever) in the cold opening and it ends with their death, although one mutant will hold on long enough to tell one of the Avengers about the coming threat.

Channing Tatum is a natural for that version of Gambit, certainement.

“The name is Tatum, chere! Remember it!” (Poses fully naked as stage explodes. Omega Sentinel faints in the front row.)
You do know that he played Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, right? And did a darn good job of it too, even though it wasn't a huge role.

Seeing that F4 are in a different universe to mainstream Avengers it could well be that the Doom is also from the F4 Universe and 'escapes' with them after their Galactus encounter, crashes through the X-Men universe then shifts on the Mainstream Earth for the final encounter bringing all three teams together.

Still too many cameos to fit in one movie, but its an option

Oh, of course, and Tatum had been working on that role for years before and given up. But that also felt like a farewell to that role, and he did play it for laughs, so to be asked to encore it seriously seems daft.

And while he obviously enjoyed playing Gambit, he was honestly not very good at it. Heck, I think Taylor Kitsch would be a better pick, and that’s saying something.

I'm pretty much out on the MCU at this point, though Pascal being in F4 maaaybe will get me to go see that. The cast lineup does nothing for me in terms of the new Avengers movie, but if the trailers look fun and the reviews are decent I might see them as well, but I'm not even trying to keep up with or understand the story that's being told in the MCU.

I think it's going to be more like the lead-up to the modern Secret Wars event, where the Heroes try to stop the incursions from happening but Doom realizes that that's futile, but he can steal the power of the Beyonders and use it to put together a world from the remnants of the multiverse, with himself as God-King.

And I mean, that's fair enough, but I think Doom shouldn't be coming out of nowhere. He deserves better. Thanos was teased for a long time before appearing as the main villain in Infinity War, even if he actually showed up in only 2-3 movies. And it makes more sense for someone like Thanos to come out of nowhere, while Doom works best if he has history (particularly with That Fool Richards; and of course with Luke Cage).

The problem is, of course, that Marvel has had to course-correct due to Jonathan Majors... poor judgment. They were clearly planning to build up Kang as the main upcoming villain, and seeded him all over the place. But then Majors got arrested and, I believe, convicted and that made him persona non grata in Marvel-land. But they were already locked in into having the Big Climaxes to the Multiverse Saga in 2026 and 2027, so they had to fill the void with something, and Doom was it.
