Yeah, I preordered the revised books.

With the price of the core books the same as 2014 (and spread across several months), I want to see the revision for myself and draw my own conclusions rather than give weight to the opinions of people that either just want to complain or those whose playstyle I am completely uninterested in. That damned Greyhawk map and setting overview just pushed me over.

Funny what pushes people over the edge. For me I think it's the paladin's changes which other people think are the worst thing ever. That, and I want to be able to continue playing in the occasional game day or con event with AL.

P.S. I also think the Greyhawk map is awesome.

I haven't preordered, but will grab the alt-cover editions from my FLGS, and will also buy all three books in Fantasy Grounds. Even if I only ended up playing one campaign in each format (in-person and VTT), it would still be more than worth it in terms of entertainment value/hour. Personally I am loving the changes so far, but have left it to my two current groups to decide which ruleset to use for our next campaigns.

We don’t have a ranking for the 2024 PHB but we do have a “number sold in the last month” and that is 1k+. At $49.

Pathfinder Player Core is at 500+ and ranked 14362 at $49.

FYI I post this just as a comparison of sales of the equivalent player core book between the largest seller and the second on the sales rank. (As a big maybe) It says nothing about the quality of each game or book. Please keep that out of this thread! It also says nothing about the success level each company needs to be doing good. Leave that out of this thread! Please and thank you!

Also I think it’s entirely possible that pathfinder book sales follow a different model than wotcs. WotC is heavily weighted in core books, while Paizo may be heavily weighted in their adventure paths. It would be interesting if someone compared rank between the PF core and adventure paths. But I think that’s a much harder more subtle job than I want to do. Please keep that out of this thread. It’s easy to make new threads here if you want to talk about it elsewhere.
