D&D 5E Adventures in the Forgotten Realms MtG set Planeswalkers confirmed.

It was interesting hearing about how they went for four D&D Commander decks so that D&D playgroups could organize a Commander game together.

Yeah that was clever.

Btw I love the Halfling Innkeeper Card art. The constrast of the cold wet rainy night, via the warmth, light, and comfort of the Inn, the friendly face of the Halfling Innkeeper, just so good.

And in a Red Green Deck with Goldspan Dragon it pays for itself.

Its also great for Witherbloom Decks, but the flavour is very different.

There was the indication at the end of the last book that something happened to Driz'zt that looked like the awakening of a Planeswalker Spark, and the description of the next book makes him sound like the Elf Buddha. Do, something is afoot..
Huh. I wonder if they're gonna do a stupid and have a big novel event herald a game mechanics change to make Drow more strongly "not always evil".

I mean, it's exactly the sort of dumb thing they've done dozens of times before.

That's basically what it looks like is happening:

"And as they explore the top of the world, Drizzt is on a journey of his own—both spiritual and physical. He wants to introduce his daughter Brie to Grandmaster Kane and the practices that have been so central to his beliefs. But, having only recently come back from true transcendence, the drow ranger is no longer sure what his beliefs mean anymore. He is on a path to determining the future, not just for his family, but perhaps the entire northlands of the Realms themselves."

"Two different roads. On one, Jarlaxle and Zaknefein are on a quest to find pieces that could offer salvation to Menzoberranzan. On the other, Drizzt seeks answers that could offer salvation to not just his soul, but all souls."

"And no matter the outcome of either journey, the Realms will never be the same again."

You beat me too it! Congrats!

That is 68 new D&D FR MtG cards. 16 of which are likely Legendary Creature Cards. Roughly in range of what we expected.
If we use the Strixhaven model, there will be 4 Legendaries. Each of the Strixhaven commander decks had 2 Legendary creatures that could command the full deck, and 2 mono-coloured legendaries that could helm a different deck. The other 13 cards are specific to support the deck strategy.

"A traditional foil card of any rarity replaces a Common in 33% of Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Draft Boosters. Traditional foil Mythic Borderless Planeswalker in less than 1% of boosters."

It occurs to me that I've been assuming that the Traditional Foil Borderless Planeswalker in 1% of Draft boosters was in the Mythic/Rare slot, but if you change the . to a , in the above qoute you realize it replaces one of the commons in about 1 in a hundred Draft Booster Packs.

Oh, wow. That's a fairly probable reading. They may be doing something like the Mystical Archive here.
