Pretty silly but this is going to be a monster hit. Both my high schooler and middle schooler have stated they 100% want to see it in theaters.

And before anyone objects -- did you also doubt the Mario Brothers movie? Do we need to revisit that thread?

I have no objections. I am so far outside the target demographic for this motion picture that my opinion as to its quality is essentially meaningless. As someone who generally has goodwill towards me fellow man, I hope the movie is enjoyable and it does well.

Just saw this with my kids. It was about equal in quality, or a hair behind, the Mario Bros movie but much better than, say, the Five Nights at Freddie's movie. I would not be surprised if it's a big hit with kids. All the kids in the theater, ranging from elementary through high school age, seemed to really like it, and they laid some track for a sequel, introducing Alex in the after-credits scene.

I had a similar experience. I saw this last night with my kids, in a theatre mostly filled with other kids. It's definitely a big hit in the demographic it's aimed at. I am not that demographic. There were lots of easter eggs/references that had to be explained to me.

That being said, I think I actually preferred this to the new Mario movie. Minecraft was much more over the top, and probably a lot stupider, but at least it was entertaining in its audacity and weirdness. The Chris Pratt Mario ended up being much more boring than I expected.
