A Game of Thrones Board Game?

I'm pretty sure FFG has put a Game of Thrones board game on sale, has anyone played it? What did you think? What games is it similar to, if any?

You may have better luck over at: http://www.boardgamegeek.com
which is to board games what EN World is to d20. Last I checked, Game of Thrones was hovering up in their Top 10 Hottest Game list at the top of the page. Just click on the name and you'll be taken right to the info you want.

I recently bought a copy of A Game of Thrones, and saw that the last two pages were ads for the FFG boardgame, and the FFG CCG.

Iunno, though -- I have no idea if it would be good or bad.

But when I saw the ads I was like:

Am I cool or not?

I picked up A Game of Thrones for something to read on the airplane (and because I knew many people on the boards like George R.R. Martin), and now it's all over the place! A CCG, a board game, and a yet-to-be-printed RPG!

So am I cool because I enjoyed the book before I knew it was popular? Or am I not cool because I'm just jumping on the fandom bandwagon at the height of its popularity? Or should I become an elitist and eschew it completely?

I saw the game down at the FLGS.

My first thought was, "Dear God, it costs how much?" Something like $45 MSRP for a game that I would probably play 1-2 times -- I don't hang around with a group who likes this kind of board games. Clue, Monopoly, yes; AH-level complexity, no.

So it's out there for people who want to buy it.

Note that it's not AH-level complexity, at least not the complexity of just about any wargame they've produced nor as complex as Axis & Allies and such. It's in the German boardgame vein which means it's rules-light and yet decision-heavy.

Let me get this straight...you picked up "A Game of Thrones" partially because people on a board I frequent liked it?

Heck yes you are cool then!
