I dunno, that second hit die, nearly doubling hitpoints and 50% more spell slots is alone a significant upgrade from 1st level. I guess you could make that argument for Bards and Wizards, who don't gain new features like Channel Divinity, Wildshape or Metamagic, but I view the first two levels...

I've become a fan of Sous-Vide for steak preparation, then a very quick char on a cast iron pan. I can get a solid medium-rare/rare steak consistently.

I'm making cream puffs for my cousin's engagement party tomorrow, and I tried my first infused pastry cream, I cold brewed cream with Earl Grey tea overnight and the resultant pastry cream is really good. Still have to make the Choux buns, but the fillings are good.
