As the title says. Feel free to post anything you like that's food related. Ideally something local to you or something you want to try but it's not a hard requirement. Shorter is also probably better (5-10 minutes) but not a hard requirement either.

Other rules.
1. No mocking the British for legendary bad food.

Anyway one of my local places.

5:25 mark if you want to skip the talking.

Best Cafe Dunedin New Zealand.

Several countries do fish and chips as a meal or at least fairly common fast food as F&C is not exactly unique anymore. Some countries serve them up with mushy peas that's just wrong much like jellied eels.

This place has been open since the 1930's and they still fry in beef fat. Terrible for you but makes the fish taste better. And vinegar that's getting rare these days along with beef fat. Some country overseas came up with that idea.

Blue cod is the species. I'm not massive fish fan but like blue cod occasionally. This isn't a retro cafe they just never updated from the 1970's or so maybe 80's.

Last had blue cod probably in January not at this place but can confirm it's great.

I’ve shared this video with a bunch of people, but never tried it myself. However, one of my buddies made one for a camping outing, and it was so popular, he’s been bringing at least 2 every outing since then.

More fun with bacon- MAN-QUICHE!

FWIW, you can probably do a multiple single-portion serving size version similar to this in your oven by using large cupcake pans.

’MURICA! (Sorry, Zard!)

I didn’t know what shakshouka was up until a few years ago. There’s something VERY similar we do in creole cuisine, usually during Lent. That dish usually gets served with hard boiled eggs that were cooked seperately, then added. But given the history of creole cuisine, what we do is probably a descendent of that dish.

So here’s a take on the original:

Another version:

One thing I do on occasion is I’ll dice up some fresh tomatoes and use Bloody Mary mix for my liquid.

Speaking of creole cuisine…Ms. Leah Chase doing her Gumbo Z’Herbes, complete with some history:

And a more streamlined version of the process by someone using her recipe.
