Eyes of Nine

Everything's Fine
I've been reading a couple of things, and it's not clear to me that Tsojcanth is actually supposed to be in Infinite Staircase. It just seems there's going to be a big "tournament" cross-planet adventurer's league event in March featuring Tsojcanth. Can someone point me to where it says Tsojcanth will be in IS?

Right now they are going through Tamoachan at the speed of roughly one room per session 😲 (one guy's getting a bit frustrated I think, he just marches into rooms and starts opening all the things - good thing he's got the most hit points!)

One room per session!!! Yikes --- It'd probably take them a couple of hundred years to explore Undermountain.

I remember the old description of Tenser's Floating Disk said that Tenser developed it because he was so greedy he couldn't stand to leave behind a single copper piece (I miss the flavor text they put in spells in 1e; it made them so much more fun to read.). It sounds like your players are the same way, tearing every room apart to make sure they don't miss a single secret door or thing of value. I wouldn't be surprised if they load up all the furniture on carts to haul back to sell. :D

To be fair, this is the first D&D they've played in ~40 years. And the early levels of 5e can be very scary, which is where they started being quite cautious. I have mentioned to them before that now they are 5th level, they are loads more powerful; maybe need to reiterate, again

The full press release detailing the year says that "Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth" is an excerpt from an upcoming product that will be available at Conventions, game stores, and on Beyond. It does not specify what it is an excerpt from, so I think we are all assuming it is from the classic Adventure anthology? So some ambiguity, but it seems plausible, particularly with Chris Perkins hits towards Expedition to Barrier Peaks in addition to Tsojcanth at Gameholecon. But could be wrong!

A quote about the Vecna campaign:

"The heroes begin in the Forgotten Realms and travel to Planescape, Spelljammer, Eberron, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and Greyhawk as they race to save existence from obliteration by the notorious lich Vecna who is weaving a ritual to eliminate good, obliterate the gods, and subjugate all worlds."
Rod of Seven parts? Def sounds like a possibility.

“Fans around the world will enjoy a free classic dungeon-delving experience with Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, an excerpt from an upcoming adventure in Quests from the Infinite Staircase.”

In December, Perkins said that Tsojcanth would be the first of several similar releases. But the release doesn’t say anything about any further stand-alone releases, and seems to frame this as more of a preview of Infinite Staircase (kind of like how they released Prisoner 13 for free on DNDBEYOND as a preview of Keys from the Golden Vault.”
