Appearance: Perhaps stereotypical of a Dwarf, Surge is exceptionally kept. Wearing clean and pressed clothing he looks more like a merchant than a

wizard. Perhaps the only defining arcane mark noticable is a stone clasp picturing the symbol of Valkauna (dwarf god of oaths) securing a braid on the right

side of the dwarf's beard. Upon closer inspection one will notice that the beard covers many burns on the neck as well as burns on the hands.

Background: Surge was ostricized from his community because of the apparent dishonor that wizardry brought to his clan. Rather than work the stone

around him, he found it easier to conjure acids to eat it away. Surge takes his Dwarfhood very seriously, to the point of rashness to others, and has sworn

an oath to regain honor among his clan. He seeks to use his talents in to gain notoriety hoping that his exploits will bring him honor.[/sblock]

You might need a better Cha score later on when you start Calling creatures, so put the 8 / 10 from Cha into Wis and the 11 from Wis into Cha (which becomes 9). At 8th level you can put your stat increase into Cha laving you with no negative.

I played a similar dwarven conjurer in an Age of Worms campaign, and he was a real stand out character. For what it is worth, consider taking the conjurer variant in Unearther Arcana that gives you Rapid Summoning in lieu of a familiar (believe me, it is worth it!), be sure to take feats like Augment Summoning and other Summoning boosters like Imbue Summoning, and have all of the stats handy for your summoned monsters so that combat isn't slowed down while you rifle through rulebooks. Also, Extend Spell is enormously useful for keeping your summoned baddies around longer.

roguerouge - I have three banned schools due to Focused Specialist, a variant from Complete Mage.

matthewajg - Great advice for a summoner. Sadly I already gave up my familiar for the PHB2 variant that grants me Ex: teleport 10'.

We've been told that the campaign is going to be undead heavy so I see my PC as a run and shoot/battlefield control type of guy who will eventually start to use undead as summons.

Looks good. I'm runing a kobold conjuror right now, and he kicks serious booty. I'm using the UA variant mentioned above with the quicker summonning and Augment in place of scribe scroll. It really makes it a lot easier to play a smart sumonner.
