now how many players/dms today can name the color of these... I was shocked I could identfy slightly more then half... although 2 I really not only don't know but kind of want to (the asian dragon 2nd row 4th over and teh top row 2nd over dragons)
I can get all of the chromatics and 3 of the metallics easily. I am 50/50 on the brass and copper.

The chromatics, except for the red, have the same distinguisher features from 1e - 5e (with a green hiccup in 4e).

The "asian" dragon is the gold dragon. The other is a blue.

As for Tiamat's/Takhisis's human form, that's her original form. The dragon form is her "demonic" appearance. ;)

FYI, if you want to know them all:
Top row, left to right: black, blue, green, red, white
Bottom row, left to right: brass, bronze, copper, gold, silver
awesome, gold and silver I wasn't 100% clear on but again my REAL question is 'how many could today?' heck I like the new black dragon with the horns forward better.

Well, the 1E had forward horns too, but they're more curved and ram-like nowdays. Lockwood's 3E "redesigns" really accentuated the 1E features. All through 1E and 2E they weren't drawn consistently, and I actually prefer that to the "set" appearance from 3E onward.

This is when dragons started to "go bad" for me. I think it's because all of them are super jagged with uber muscles and tattered wings. Look at the 1e green dragon by comparison. It's fat. Some AD&D dragons are sleek and skinny. There were variations (black were sleek, red were muscular, green were bulbous, etc). These dragons (which 5e still looks like) seem all the same to me
