Strength drained and running

How would you handle a strength-drained character (say down to STR 3, or 6, or whatever) that has to run away from something? Yes, I understand that CON determines the length of a sprint, but can you really run away when your strength is almost gone?

Technically according to the rules, nothing bad happens to you when your Str is reduced (other than affecting combat rolls, lifting, etc.) Only when you reach Str 0 does something "bad" happen.

Such is the way of an abstract system (same reason nothing bad happens as your hp disappear).

So- yes, unless you/your DM house rules that a weakened Str affects your running, you can still run away as per normal.

Not sure of the rules, but what happens if you exceed your maximum carrying capacity?

A fighter in Full plate and a backpack is going to have a very tough time going anywhere if his Str 18 is reduced to around 3...
