Specialist Wiz & 0 lvl spells?

The PHB says that a starting Wizard has ALL cantrips in his spell book. What if you are a specialist Wizard? Do you still get ) lvl spells from opposed schools?

Also, do you get to cast a bonus 0 lvl spell from your specialized school? Specialists get to cast one extra spell from each spell level they know, so is 0-lvl a spell level? Why or why not?

No- because even though they are 0-level spells, they all still belong to various schools. If one is in opposition to your specialty, then no. Check page 155 in the PHB, bottom of the page, 1st column. "If a wizard has chosen to specialize in a school of magic, she can learn spells only from schools she can cast."

Again- I would say no because even having a high Int score doesnt grant bonus o-level spells like it does for all other spell levels.

Just ran into this in my new camapaign (character is a Transmuter). If you have any of other books (MoF I know has some at least), you can just swap out the 0 lvls you can't use for some from the other books.
He dropped Ray of Frost for one of the Evocation variants in MoF if I recall. Otherwise I guess you might have saved some room in your spell book, maybe enough for a higher level spell. :)
