This week’s article includes RPG crowdfunding projects that end between September 7th to the 15th. I look at a sampling of games including the tail end of Kickstarters’s 2022 RPG Zine Quest. - WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? This is the fourth game in Vincent Baker’s The Wizard's Grimoire zine series. Each game stands alone but can be played together for a larger experience. In this one, you play a necromancer while another player is the thief. You’re friends, that relationship coming from the horrors and experiences of your pasts. You can play with these characters or add in the other books to enjoy a wider fantasy world. If you’re a fan of fantasy and Powered by the Apocalypse, this is worth checking out since it is from the creator of that movement.

- WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? Looking for a gaming convention in early November in Dayton, Ohio? If so, AcadeCon is coming back. This year, many gaming conventions returned to their pre-pandemic timeframes as they rebuilt their audiences. For AcadeCon, their pre-Covid attendance was 500, which is in-line with what they’re aiming for as a convention. They’re not seeking to supplant Origins or Gen Con, just to provide a fun experience for gaming fans. With a focus on tabletop gaming, this convention is worth checking out.

The spaghetti Western final shoot out is an iconic cinematic experience, but hard to recreate without cameras and editing. This RPG creates the tension by starting at the standoff and working through flashbacks of how the fighters came to this impasse. Done as a two-player RPG experience, each player is one of the gunslingers, ready to settled their differences with lead… just as soon as the flashbacks reveal what those differences are. At CA$4 for the PDF and POD, this campaign page is worth checking out.

If you want a board game that works hard to feel like an RPG dungeon crawl, this may be right for you.
