Heh heh... well based upon all the complaints we always hear about people refusing to use 3rd party products because they don't think they've been playtested... apparently there's only a small percentage of people who can make effective D&D rules too. :D
Yes, but let’s keep in the mind that those people who think good 3pp aren’t balanced are wrong.

What is this? If you love something just SOOOOOOOOO MUUUUUUUUUUUCH then you should get a chance to own it and the person/company who does own it shouldn't get to own it anymore?
I personally would hate to see my mother languishing in chains as money goblins carved chunks of her flesh off. But that's just me.

"We don't think One D&D will be as backwards compatible as promised because they're changing 5e.

Anyway, here are changes to 5e."
Literally came here to make this joke.

Seriously, I don’t have any idea how you can look at the OneD&D playtest docs and the Black Flag playtest doc and conclude anything other than both of these are shooting for a pretty similar level of backwards compatibility. There just isn’t that much of a difference, and everything Kobold Press says to the contrary just screams “we really need to create this impression for marketing reasons”.

Could be. But there is also a lot more out for the OneD&D playtest already. I assume Kobold Press is already working on more stuff and not just sitting around waiting for us to finish looking at this initial document. Therefore they are likely making that statement with a better understanding of what they see their product ending up like than we can currently see.
