Polymorph Any Object question- Types and Subtypes

I'm asking a quick and specific question, hoping for a quick and specific answer supported by RAW.

When you use PAO to permanently change into another creature, are you considered that creature's type and subtypes? Can you grant a template?

I realize the limitations of not grating Spell-like or supernatural abilities or extraordinary special qualities besides extraordinary attacks.

Example- Human Wizard turns himself into a Medium sized Fay. Is he no longer able to be affected by Hold Person? If you PAO into a dragon (your size, equal to less intelligence), can you then take dragon-only feats? etc.

The type re-asignment is mentioned under Shapechange as one of the differentiators compared to Polymorph. PAO references it works like Polymorph.

Actually the answer is yes. The rules for the Polymorph spell explicitly state, "The subject’s creature type and subtype (if any) change to match the new form." And as was pointed out, this characteristic is inherited by PAO.

As for taking forms with templates, these are disallowed in the rules for the Alter Self spell. This restriction is inherited by the Polymorph spell, and therefore applies to PAO as well.

Please remember that Polymorph Any Object changes your Intelligence score to match the new form, which could spell disaster for your Int based caster.
Also, it is important to note that Polymorph (as Gantros mentioned) changes your type and subtype to match the new form.
