DMG errata:

Has anyone noticed this one?

The Helm of underwater action. On the chart on DMG pg 249 (item 81) the price is listed as 24000 (now I think that this is bit high for a simple item using just the water breathing – the eye pieces must be technological as they aren’t addressed.)

However the price listed under the description on DMG pg 259 {bottom left} says 57000 way out there for a mere caster Lv of 5th and a 3rd Lv spell?

Further the description of the items function does not match the spell. The spell makes the recipient of the spell able to breath water. This item “…creates a globe of air around the wearers head”

What do you all think? It used to be 10,000 in 2nd Ed.

Great helms were 30gp back then. In 3.5-not listed.

Rabulias

the Incomparably Shrewd and Clever
Magic Item Compendium includes the 24,000gp price in its summary charts.

Of course, it may have just been copied and pasted from the DMG charts, so you never know.

This may be an example of the "primary source" guideline being wrong...
