Did WotC ever explain why creatures like displacer beasts, mind flayers, and beholders weren't OGL, but aboleths, flumphs, and otyughs are?

There's an error for goblin specialist (see gnoll). I guess you should see goblin instead
Flame-spitting statue is also reported both at CR 3 and 4, maybe there's two variants with different CR but could be a bit confusing.

As for what regards the variants with see X in parentheses, I think they're not very helpful if the monster referenced is not of the same CR: one has to go through the whole list of all CRs to find what page that monster is supposed to be. For example, Vengeful Ghost (see ghost) is a CR 7 monster, but Ghost is a CR4 monster. One has to find the ghost on the CR 4 list (which is in the previous page), and finally find page 226. It's a bit clumsy.
Wouldn't it be simpler to directly report the page for variants as well?

Actually the CR3 flame-spitting statue refers to walking statue (which refers to page 24), while the CR4 flame-spitting statue gives directly page 24...
