I recently watched the Marvels. While I generally liked it, both the villain and Brie as Captain Marvel still came across as a bit flat. To me, the times that Captain Marvel didn't come across as flat, she instead came across as a bit of a d-bag.
I like Brie Larson in other movies, but something about her as Captain Marvel just doesn't work for me. Marvels highlighted that too; the end credit scene showed a variant that I could tell that I preferred, even from minimal exposure.
I'm not quite sure what my expectations are for the next movie.
I'm curious to see if we'll ever see Rogue in the MCU and what that may mean for Captain Marvel.
