The silverstar prestige class in Faiths and Pantheons has an ability that allows the character to become a natural lycanthrope rather than an infected one, when exposed to lycanthropy. What does this do to the charaters ECL? Does the character stop leveling until the rest of the party catches up? Becoming a weretiger adds a little kick to most characters. Especially when they can take improved control shape.

I'd say you aquire an ecl mid game. That's really the only fair way to do it and have it balance out. From that point on treat your character as with the ecl, so you won't gain a level for quite a while.
