Jayce looks back over his shoulder at the gnome, once dead elf and the white eyed kalashtar. "By the Seven, I hope so," he laughs. "Barkeep! A round for my friends here." He indicates the farmers.

"So, anything up the game trail we should know about?"

"Game trail? Well, game I guess. Not much out that way. A few farms, a bunch of wilds. Very few folk head out that way, fact, I haven't heard anyone go out that way in a long time. Most people round here stick near the inn cause that's the source of money. We sell produce and such to Billiam over there, and he cooks it up for travelers. A few folk do odds and ends, making a stick of furniture here or there, or shoeing a horse, that type of thing. There's not many folk here about." the man replies.

"Yes, my sister is pretty far out there. A day's travel. She sticks by her lonesome, a bit of a hermit. I doubt she has a single close neighbor." Jasper says.

"Peasants..." Marshal Hilkalas mutters, and walks to the barkeep. "Serve me something sour to sharpen the mind" he speaks into the man's head.

Jayce waits for his mutton stew before inquiring as to the sleep arrangements. He may interject that someone should sleep near (same room) Jasper should anything... untoward be at risk that evening.

Rava walks into the Inn behind the rest of the group. After questioning the farm girl on the road, she had pretty much kept to herself, simply enjoying the weather, even if it was wet. Unlike some of her other companions, Rava did not have magic spells that would block out the weather, and she probably wouldn't have used such a thing even had she known of it. Wringing out her robes and then making the sign of Boldrei in the air before stepping over the threshold of the Hooting Owl's entrance, Rava moves to stand near the fire and the farmers. Rava, too, noticed the rough types who had been sitting near the farmers, and was a little put off by their sudden departure, but hadn't noticed that their clothing was still damp and thought nothing more of them. As the cleric stood near the fire, she greeted the farmers.

"Good evening to you all. The Host as surely brought us some interesting weather tonight, haven't they? I am Rava, a humble servant of The Host. Should any of you require healing, or simply have a want to pray, please feel free to come see me."

Seeing the ruckus the deathless was causing Rava moved to intervene and calm the situation until she realized the elf's motives. The situation was resolved, if a little heavy-handed, but Rava did appreciate the insight shown by the elf in his thoughts to check whether Jayce really had money to hire them or not. Being already near the Innkeeper, Rava paid her one gold fee and waited patiently at one of the tables near Martial Hilkalas. When her food came to her, Rava thanked The Host for their blessings and ate quietly.

OOC: I'll be taking some days off for vacations, I'll be back on the 3rd of april. Assume Hilkalas will be an ass, as always.I might drop a last post tonight if there is some activity.

"Well, I'm not worried about tonight. A nice inn like this should be safe and cozy. But tomorrow, we head out into the shrubs. That's where I'm worried and why I hired you. I don't know why I heard that there were monsters and bandits holed up out there and these men here haven't heard that, but if we are in danger, that's where it's going to be. Course, maybe someone told me that to d'courage me from going. I don't know. All I know is that's what I heard." Jasper says.

"If they are double rooms, it would be safer to bunk up." Gauging Jasper's reaction to Sirrah, he suggests that Jasper and Jayce share a room. He assumed the two females would share a room as well.

OOC: If they are single rooms, then please feel free to ignore.

The next morning is even more miserable than the previous day. The thunder stopped sometime during the night, but a steady rain is coming down.

Jasper heads the group east. He zig and zags a bit, looking around, but it only takes him about a half hour to find the trail he is looking for. The trail is definitely a small game trail. Animals probably use this trail more than people. It seems totally deserted out here. A few hours go by as the group weaves through the trees. The group loses the trail a few times due to the poor visibility, but it doesn't take much to find it again.

OOC:
SS P J R
SS R T H

This was the original marching order posted (Jasper is in the back with an R for his name). This trail is too narrow for double file. So, I am making this:

S R J1 T J2 H

where J1 is Jayce, and J2 is Jasper. Sirah's horse is a medium sized creature and is in his square. Jasper and Pumpkin don't (as a general rule) fight, so they are in the same square.

Due to inclement weather and poor visibility through the trees, everyone make me a perception roll at -2.
