What's this PoD malarkey?

$10 a softcover.. Here's its around $40-50 if you can even find one.

I saw a used softcover reprint Fiend Folio for sale at Half Price Books this week.

They were asking $30 for it!
(DM’s Guild is selling ‘em new for $9.99.)

Sadly not uncommon because they search by ISBN or title and don't research very well. The local one once had a set of Aleister Crowley's Equinox for sale with $350 on the tag. I recognized it immediately as a set of the 1971(?) Weiser reprint but they had found the most recent edition, a POD hardcover put together from cleaned up scans of the original 1909-1913 edition that are 30-35 each and slapped that price on it. I told them what they have and they said they "researched the ISBN" and that was what it came back as... so they sold a $1500-3000 set of books for 70% to 90% off. They've had other books back there behind the counter that were way overpriced, which is the usual.
