Is this based on the Japanese manga? I read of it years ago, could make for a fun show.

One of my buddies was just telling me about this anime last night as we were discussing which ones we were catching up on and watching. My watching time is limited, so I tend to focus on Crunchyroll and miss a bunch of Netflix and Hulu stuff.

Obligatory shout out to the Monster Overhaul, which includes a small roll chart for most monsters, detailing what happens if you eat them. Often pretty bad (why, exactly, do you want to eat a ghoul?), but sometimes pretty cool. Always fun and it's great to be able to respond to that player who thinks they're going to throw the DM by doing something crazy.

They can be made both tasty and safe to eat with the right preparation. You need to char-grill it directly over a hot flame until it is reduced to nothing but a fine grey powder. This can then be used as the basis for a delicious gruel or broth. Many people consider ghoul ash a delicacy.

Reminds me of the time I had to make holy water for the local church. The priest was out of town and I did not have anyone to bless the water, so the deacon told me to take the tap water and just "boil the hell out of it."
