When WotC announced the Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron as a PDF release it caused a great disturbance as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in joy and frustration. The joy is because the most requested setting in the player surveys was finally being released for 5th Edition. The frustration is because it's not a physical book, it's not legal for D&D Adventurer's League and it said that Wayfinder's “will serve to collect feedback on adjusted races, dragon marks, new backgrounds and more,” making it seem like a beta release. By contrast, Curse of Strahd Ravenloft was presented as an adventure and source material.
This week brings us a GM-and-dice-less game of those we usually overlook in our sci-fi games, an Egyptian themed setting for Dungeon World, a system-neutral hexcrawl setting that'll be great for your OSR games, modern occultists, zombie survivors, music to keep your adventurers entertained, and a fantastic new dice set inspired by Japanese temples. Yes, this is the weekly RPG Crowdfunding News!
Hot on the heels of ICv2's latest industry report are the Quarter 2, 2018 usage statistics for the virtual tabletop, Fantasy Grounds. They tell a similar, but not identical story, with D&D 5E in the lead, followed by Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, and more. ICv2 has released its latest industry report, including the top 5 roleplaying games for Spring 2018. Unsurprisingly, D&D holds the top spot still (it has for some years now), with Starfinder still outpacing Pathfinder, possibly due to people waiting on Pathfinder 2nd Edition. These are followed by FFG's Star Wars RPG, and their in-house Genesys generic game system (based on the Star Wars system).
Welcome to the DM's Guild Roundup! This issue we have three tomes that talk about Eberron, introducing new players to the fantastic world and welcoming back those who have been there before. Let's dust off these tomes and have a look inside.

You might recall that Roll20 (owned by the Orr Group), a popular online platform for role-playing games, also happens to own an esport team. I asked Nolan T. Jones, co-owner of the Orr Group, what he thought about esports and D&D being back in the spotlight.

Modern AGE is a tool box RPG with detailed rules for player characters but only a brief setting. There are enough adversaries and an adventure to get a GM started, but rules for customizing a setting are scarce. The rules are most comprehensive for a setting designed for the computer age.
Lately, I’ve been playing through all of the old Castlevania video games and began seriously considering crafting a homebrew version of original NES game for my next Dungeons & Dragons campaign. As I began thinking about what I’d like to incorporate into a homebrew version of Castlevania, my mind wandered over to the horror-themed D&D campaign setting, Ravenloft.
