Phandelver is back with a new Lovecraftian-inspired adventure, Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk
The Practically Complete Guide to Dragons is not a replacement for Fizban's Treasury of Dragons. But what is it then?
Project lead James Wyatt is back with another creature-specific D&D book like 2021's Fizban's Treasury of Dragons.
Dragonlance: Dragons of Fate picks up the time-travel adventure shortly after the Dragonlance: Dragons of Destiny ended, but with a brief, in-character recap to remind readers where things left off.
Those clever goblins at Beadle & Grimm's are at it again.
We'll be updating live from the afternoon session of the D&D Creator Summit so refresh for new content. D&D Virtual Tabletop The afternoon session began with a look at the upcoming D&D Virtual Tabletop (VTT). Screenshots of the livestream were not allowed so I can't show you what we saw. We saw three windows anyway -- one for the demo, one for the participants in the room talking about it...
The last segment of today's D&D Direct presentation featured Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford, both D&D game architects. They talked about what adventures to expect the rest of this year, what's coming next year, and beyond, all centered around the D&D Multiverse.
R.A. Salvatore appeared to discuss the 35th anniversary of the introduction of Drizzt Do'urden. The final book in his trilogy, The Way of the Drow, is entitled Lolth's Warrior and will release this August.
Perhaps the showstopper of todays D&D Direct event was a preview of the upcoming D&D digital playspace. Hosts Gina Darling and Ify Nwadiwe met with Kale Stutzman, principal game designer of D&D Digital, where he ran them through an adventure using the technology. The video shown in the presentation, though, was labeled “Pre-alpha gameplay footage.”
After the Minecraft D&D announcement, the D&D Honor Among Thieves movie was the next showcase in the D&D Direct presentation. An extended trailer for the movie was screened, followed by a promo for pre-made character sheets available on D&D Beyond like the movie characters.
The lead announcement from today's D&D Direct presentation is a collaboration between Dungeons & Dragons and Minecraft, releasing this spring. Tom Sargent, senior producer at Wizards of Coast, said it's set in Forgotten Realms and that they're “...two amazing properties that work well together.”
All stops have been pulled out to promote the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie, including a prequel graphic novel from IDW, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: The Feast of the Moon. Unfortunately, it makes mistakes I expected the two prequel prose novels to make.
To say that the original 2000 Dungeons & Dragons movie was a critical failure is an understatement. By contrast, if the new movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves isn't a cinematic natural 20, it's at least a 19.
Beadle & Grimm's has made another luxury edition of a D&D adventure set, this time Spelljammer: Adventures in Space.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: The Druid's Call is the second prequel novel laying the ground work for the March 31 release of the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie. Between this YA novel by E.K. Johnston and Jaleigh Johnson's Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: The Road to Neverwinter novel, I'm cautiously optimistic about the direction being taken for the movie.
I'm frequently disappointed by media tie-in novels. Many are lackluster or feel like they're going through the motions. That makes Jaleigh Johnson's Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: The Road to Neverwinter, one of two prequel novels for the movie releasing on March 31, such a pleasant surprise.
