  • It would be a fun 'meta experience' for players to visit locations they remember lore about.
  • Finding pieces of the Rod of Seven Parts, pieces throughout the multiverse.
  • Each piece in one of seven distinct planes or settings.
  • Allustriel Silverhand has noticed something is wrong, puts call out to Tasha and Mordenkainen, who come to her sanctum in Sigil.

Here are the Table of Contents for the book, naturally spoilers for those who may play it.

Since I expect to DM this anyway, I read the spoilers. So, a couple of thoughts.
Character Creation: I assume they will discuss magic item allocation for 10th level starting characters.
Challenge Ratings: Some acknowledgement that they are borked in this level range.
Chapter 1: Optional chapter that can be skipped if the PCs are already over level 10.
Bestiary: quite a few reprints in there.

Legend
OK, so the set-up is that Alustriel Silverhand, Mordenkainen and Tasha find out Vecna is up to Shennanigans, gather in Sigil and cast Wish to defeat him...and the Wish summons the player characters.

Todd says it feels like a big package of mini-Adventures, 7 chapters each with one Setting thst has a piece of the Rod of Seven Parts.
Just realized there's a big problem with the opening, if this is true:

PHB:
Wish is the mightiest spell a mortal creature can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter the very foundations of reality in accord with your desires.
Beats the general rule for Summoning in Planescape.
