How many posts/pages on a thread is too many for you to bother participating even if you otherwise would be interested in the topic?

After like five or ten pages, if the thread is still active it's probably no longer about the topic in the title/OP. If it keeps going after that, it's almost certainly going to drift toward one of the standing arguments here, and at this point (or that point) I'm out. If someone has a pretty serious question, I'll try to get an answer in, if the thread hasn't drifted far, but I'm not rehashing some barely-related argument for the 4,698th time.

Ya know, there are some games where my priority as a player would be to arrange for the most spectacular deaths for my character. That's one--I could even point to the player advice in my own defense.
