D&D (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Alternate Art Cover Reveal

Alternate Player's Handbook cover art by Wylie Beckert.

Polygon revealed the alternate art for the 2024 Player's Handbook.

"Illustrated by Wylie Beckert, the alt art cover of the Player’s Handbook (2024) features a party comprised of D&D’s four iconic classes — the fighter, the wizard, the cleric, and the rogue — all gathered around a friendly gold dragon, sharing tea. This gentle scene stands in stark contrast to the mainline Player’s Handbook (2024), which will have a bright, bold cover by Tyler Jacobsen with similar characters posed in the moments before striking a blow."

Man that's Argentina. I dont' want to get into real world stuff here but we both know that's literally the whitest latin american country and is considered as such globally. And I also said there are def latinos that consider themselves white, but is not the average.
Im Latino (Caribbean) and very much White.
Question is, which do I identify with?

In the Caribbean we have all shades, but we all consider ourselves Caribbean. Best part is you can mix coffee and milk and make something even more delicious.

I enjoy both covers quite a bit, so I'll have a difficult time choosing.
Same here. I love my alt-cover for Tasha's (though the material picks up grime too easily), but most other alt-covers are kind of meh to me and I have no trouble choosing the regular cover.
This one though. Ooooo, tough choice.

Honestly I am not a fan of the alternate cover and prefer the standard cover(which I really like). However I am glad that they are offering the alternate cover because some clearly do enjoy it. Having options are always a good thing.

I mean, multiple checks works fine. But it’s weird that the two boxes I’ll be checking are mutually exclusive with each other.

I wonder if they're trying to head towards "check off all the groups of countries your ancestors were from several hundred years ago (if we ignore that some country borders changed a lot, the populations of several countries largely became mixtures of two or more in that time span, you might not know, they might have moved around a lot, and some of the names have baggage that might make it feel awkward to do so)".

Ignoring the parenthetical part it, it kind of makes sense to me that the boxes would be mutually exclusive. (But that's a lot to ignore).

EDIT: Ok, I misunderstood what you were saying, nevermind.

This is so much better than the standard cover! If I can't snag this PHB I'll wait for 6e.

I wasn't planning on buying the PHB at release, but it looks like wotc found a way into my wallet, the sneaky kobolds.
