Hello everyone, Darryl here with this week’s gaming news! Alice is Missing getting a film adaptation, a new Level Up actual play, WizKids announces a lot of miniatures, and more! For a quick summary of the week’s news, Jessica Hancock will bring you up to speed with EN Live's This Week in TTRPG every Friday. Don’t forget, you can keep up with all the week’s gaming news in detail with...
Dungeons & Dragons has an entire new setting and numerous new rules with the Symbaroum setting. D&D also gets several new modules. There are numerous supplements and modules for the OSR and a unique Halloween RPG. The RPG about a world overrun by spiders is even creepier (and crawlier). Finally, there is some miniature furniture for a wizard’s lair.
Dungeons & Dragons has plenty of support this week. Adventures, maps, and miniatures painted or primed including an ice troll and snow golems to celebrate snow in April in the USA. My current favorite RPG, The One Ring 2nd Edition, gets two types of dice (one for Gandalf and one for Sauron) with special symbols on some faces, a screen, and a magical elven city with new rule options. There are...
Dungeons & Dragons has gross miniatures (one of which is a zombie clot, yuck), DCC has a new cover and new patron support and a post-apocalyptic setting, and AD&D gets more support via a gaming magazine. Troika! gets its own version of Hogwarts and PCs will have backgrounds like daughter of mischief and vrilmonger. GMs get world building and campaign management support with trackers and...
A great deal of thought clearly goes into Beadle & Grimm's products, from props to packaging. For their Platinum Edition of The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, that makes opening the shipping box feel like Christmas morning.
So much fantasy this week with a hint of the post-apocalyptic for added spice and danger. Dungeons & Dragons has a new supplement full of new options for DMs and players alike along with player and adventure support and a bronze d20 for Fateforge. Castles & Crusades gets a new printing of the rules, a book full of classes, and character sheets to go with both. Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG gets a...
From flying faeries to rune-wielding Vikings to magical kitties, this week has a little bit of everything magical and monstrous. Dungeons & Dragons has maps of The Wild, an adventure, inspiring lists, potions, and dungeon encounters. Delta Green RPG has a new adventure. For you Vikings out there, there is a bag o’ runes to be had which is one of the best things I’ve found for this column in a...
Everyone loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The four amphibious brothers are a cultural institution at this point. Back in the 1980s, however, they were still more of an underground affair. All that changed when Playmates toys and the 1987 Fred Wolf cartoon came around, but there was definitely a point when enjoying TMNT was a very different experience.
Dungeons & Dragons has a Renaissance world setting of anthropomorphic animals and another dark world ruled by a despot and his Dismembered Legion. Soulbound gets an adventure path and Mörk Borg gets a variety of new rules. Traveller has more deep space exploration adventures. Twilight 2000 gets a screen and cards and there are new building models out for modern and sci-fi campaigns.
It's time once again for my list of gifts for Game Masters. Here's what I've reviewed throughout 2021 that might be good for your favorite GM. These products are listed from least- to most-expensive. Also note that if you want to get any product in time for the holidays, you'll want to order soon!
D&D has dragons and adventures, and Castles & Crusades has options for GMs, about gods, and valuable materials PCs can find. Soulbound gets a monster book and DCC RPG gets a reprint of a run of zines. Starship Warden sees two supplements and Feng Shui 2 gets two adventures. Finally, Gaming Paper has new gridded blank battle maps.
My recent D&D session at Boy Scout camp forced me to make some hard choices about what maps I could realistically bring with me. So which maps work best?
The RPG crowdfunding campaigns covered in this article end between July 2nd and 23rd. While not an exhaustive list of every project that is available, there are several Savage Worlds and 5e projects to consider, as well as original systems and some RPG accessories.
Ptolus is back and it is still huge. Many more D&D products are also out for monsters, monster building advice, new spells, dragons, the world of Midgard, and conditions tracked by rings used with miniatures. Battlelords has new adventures and for fans of Star Trek, Boldly Go! offers a new RPG to allow exploring the galaxy. And a Traveller adventure is available again.
While I am not much of a minis player, I am dazzled by the gorgeous tables and setups I see at conventions and online. Dwarven Forge terrain blows my mind but I don’t have the time, money or energy to properly set it up. When I opt to do more grid or miniatures based combat I’m usually fine with some dry erase markers and tokens. If I have a specific set piece in mind, I’ll breakout something...
Lots of new support for D&D, Pathfinder, and OSR RPGs including a magazine, a new class, adventures, monsters, and psionics. Fantasy Trip gets character collections. The week rounds out with a miniatures cathedral and miniatures that work well in post-apocalyptic RPGs.

With The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977, Wizards is going back to the roots of the game, presenting material other histories have not.
Put the players within spitting distance of the fall of House Atreides and the rise of Muad’Dib.
For its first book of D&D's 50th anniversary year, Wizards is going big with a multiverse-spanning, multiverse-threatening adventure where players will face off against one of the game’s most legendary villains.
A great monster book on its own but also useful as a supplemental guide to pre-existing fantasy worlds.
