I found a CD in a used record store yesterday that might be of interst to those who like the Wheel of Time series, or who want some gaming background music....

A Soundtrack for the Wheel of Time by Robert Berry. I haven't actually read the books, so I don't know how appriopriate the music is to the references in the track titles. However, as a soundtrack, it is actually pretty good.

You may listen to audio clips or purchase the CD on the Magna Carta Records website:

Mabey I'm the only person on earth who bought and played all the wya through the WoT game (based on the Unreal engine) but it was very good in my opinion. Some of the atmospheres were amazing and quite scary. Anyway, the game CD itself had about a 20 track soundtrack on it. It was ok, a little to folksy for me though, but just thought I'd let you know.

Actualy, I rather liked the game myself. A few things I didn't like... the dumb "Almost-stilled-so-you-can-only-use Ter'Angreal" bit sucked, for example... And the AI for friendly units sucked (the few times you had friendly units)... and Mashadar wasn't near deadly enough... but overall, it was pretty good. I loved the ways, and shadar logoth...first time I came over that hill and saw Shadar Logoth in the distance, with the crash of thunder and lightning timed just right... man, that was an amazing feel.

Multiplayer was fun, when you could find people to play it. The base-building was a new twist to a FPS (Well, not totaly... Tribes sorta has it... but digging pit traps was awsome :)
