Former World Of Game Design Employees Claim Tabletop Company Exploits Workers And Clients “He's either incompetent, or he is intentionally deceiving people. And I think it's a little of both.” Rowan Zeoli Rowan Zeoli Oct 28, 2024 — 34 min read

I was really hoping for the best for this company and its initial idea.

In late August, game designer Ian Yusem posted a thread on Twitter alleging that World of Game Design was “unlawfully selling” his books, owed him thousands of dollars in unpaid consignment sales, and had failed to return his leftover inventory.

I'm trying to understand what this company is.
It looks like they have booths at conventions to re-sale other people's games. Then they provide "consultation" for successful Kickstarters? Briefly had the license for Zweihander?
Then they have some in-house stuff I've never heard of that seems to be in development hell.

They also were doing an “organized play” thing.

I’ve run games for them, only a couple. My experience was excellent however. I credit Zac and Todd for that.

I've run shows, managed programs and booths, for a few decades now. That includes paying and taking care of my people. Which is why we are who we are, where we are at, and have been the leader for 20 years. I say that because I know what I'm talking about and have the scars to prove it.

I've known many of the people listed in this article for a long long time (decade+ for some). Zac, Troy, Jon, and Thomas - are amazingly awesome people who got screwed. They all worked for me before Wogd, some work for me now, and they are all welcome to help out any time they want. Like I said - they are amazingly passionate, honest, and just good people. They'd bend over backwards for gamers and gaming and they were taken advantage of because of that passion.

When somebody shows you who they really are - believe them.
