Wiki & Campaign Manager

Morrus

Well, that was fun

We have two major new EN World features to introduce today!

Wiki

EN World now has a wiki. You can use this for any RPG-related content or subject.

Unlike the old wiki we used to have, this one is actually designed to work with our forum software. That means it won't die like the old hack we used to use.

Feel free to use it. Also check out how it interacts with the
Campaign Manager.

You can access it via the navbar (above) from any page on EN World.

Campaign Manager

With features still being added, the Campaign Manager is a collection of tightly-integrated campaign-management tools which work together to form a useful website and information resource for the players in your campaign. It already has a slew of useful features (campaign wikis, forums, member control, management of links and files, a journal, calendar system, and more) and new features such as an NPC manager, a character manager, and loot and XP trackers are coming soon.

This is great news Morrus.

I maybe mistaken, but you have mentioned that you'd be updating the forum software in the future. Will this Wiki be able to work with the update or will people have to re-publish information again?

We chose this particular wiki software, Nebten, because it works with both versions of our vBulletin software. It won't be a problem. :)

What type of content is it meant for?

Half of it is for campaign wikis created through the Campaign Manager.

The rest of it is for any RPG-related content you wish. If it's RPG-related, it's welcome there.

What does this offer that Obsidian Portal does not? Why should I choose you guys? I'm not trolling or anything, I genuinely am curious.

You shouldn't. I'm not selling you anything. Use whichever you wish! Obsidian Portal is a mighty fine website. :)

I'm building it for my own use more than anything, and adding functions that strike me as being useful when running a game (there's a feature list/help section linked from it); I have craploads of ideas, and having fun making it. But everyone else is welcome to use it too if they want.

That's the same motivation I had behind creating my SRD 3.5 Revised, which I sell, and thousands of people have picked that up and are using it so, being free, the Campaign Mgr will probably be quite successful. Great idea!

If you go to the wiki using the "Public Pages" list, it does not group content by any criteria. There should either be a kind of folder system, or each article should have the project, setting, or whatever at the beginnig of the title. Right now, you don't have any idea where a given page belongs to.

That's up to the people creating the pages, and those who choose to edit them. The wiki includes a category system for those who wish to use it.
