D&D 5E WICKED character classes and alignments

Laws of Mordenkainen, Elminster, & Fistandantilus
Hi everyone and happy holidays, in particular happy Christmas and Hanukkah for those celebrating.

I took the family to see Wicked a few days ago and enjoyed it. Some of the characters stuck out to me as fun to translate to D&D.

Elphaba strikes me as a chaotic good Chthonic Tiefling Storm (maybe Draconic?) Sorcerer.

I'll call Glinda a lawful neutral Human College of Glamour Bard.

The Wizard of Oz might be a lawful neutral Human Artillerist Artificer.

These are just early thoughts and might not go any further, but I thought it might spark some interesting contributions from people more familiar with the story (I have not seen the Broadway production, although my daughter has) or with a more knowledgable understanding of various subclasses.

Cheers!

Would like to make some Wicked-specific subclasses, even though that isn't the spirit of the thread.

I would do the Witch herself as a Wild Magic Sorcerer, because of the sleeping scene and how her magic does what it wants too sometimes.

Glenda I would make a Bard.

Oz could be done convincingly as a Rogue or as an Artificer, depending on which aspect of his character you want to lean on more.

The prince charming character whose name escapes me is def a Rogue.

The head sorcerer at the school is probably a Storm Sorcerer.

The Wizard's definitely Neutral Evil. He's a con man who gained authority through fraud and seeks to further his rule through bigotry and oppression with no motive other than his own self-aggrandizement.

I'd be fine with him being a Bard (College of Eloquence or College of Whispers since he's an image-obsessed populist demagogue) since the Bard in Honor Among Thieves didn't cast spells either and The Wizard's tendency to boost his supporters could be interpreted as Bardic Inspiration.

I'd say Elphaba starts out a Lawful Good Wizard (she doesn't fully come into her power until she gets her hands on a spellbook) and becomes Chaotic Good after learning the true corruption of The Wizard.

Glinda starts out Chaotic Neutral (she's self-obsessed, shallow, and flighty) before ending up closer to Good with Elphaba until she ends up relapsing thanks to The Wizard's temptations and her own fear.

Madam Morrible is a Lawful Evil Conjuration or Evocation Wizard or Storm Sorcerer (thanks to her skills at controlling the weather). Unlike The Wizard she's dedicated to upholding order and seems to have a personal code and standards, but she's fully on-board with The Wizard's Evil regime.

Fiyero's a Chaotic Neutral Rogue (I'd say Thief).

Nice! Although, I think Shardstone's suggestion of Elphaba as a Wild Magic Sorcerer seems a little more on point. But the rest of your suggestions are the best.

Do we have a character sheet for him? Last I saw, we just had an NPC/monster write-up for him, which don't use PC rules in 5E.
Yes, it's in the Thieves' Gallery part of the Honor Among Thieves bundle.

His sheet also contains this:

Inspiring Words (3/Day). When a creature Edgin can see within 60 feet of himself fails an ability check, an attack roll, or a saving throw, Edgin grants the creature magical encouragement. The creature can roll a d8 and add the number rolled to the total, potentially turning the failure into a success.

The Wizard's definitely a Bard since he's not a combat threat and instead relies on his allies while he applies the equivalents of buffs and debuffs through propaganda and personal manipulation.
