It was noticeably much more crowded and hectic this year! I wonder if that's the new norm or a combination of the 50th anniversary year/the Gygax kids amping up their hustle. I love the Grand Geneva as a venue, though Gary Con now seems to push its resources to the limit. The last couple of years, I have said that I wouldn't go back...but then I end up going again.
This year the amount of people was just too much for me. Honestly, that was my only complaint about this year. Well, I guess going along with that, there were quite a few people who were unable to leave their egos at the door.
Both of my con roommates got the flu right after, but I somehow dodged that bullet. As much as I had a blast at Gary Con this year, it was such a plague pit that I can't see going again anytime soon.

Regarding egos, I've never had a problem with the folks I consider to be the "real celebrities", who have always been gracious and generous with their time. There were quite a few podcasters and streamers who felt that they didn't need to wait in line for coffee or a beer. The only reason I knew they were "internet famous" was because they felt the need to announce it to everyone within earshot. Very much a "do you know who I am?" sort of vibe.It was noticeably much more crowded and hectic this year! What does "egos at the door" refer to? I spend most of my time there in the same few rooms, so I don't run into too much of celebrities, "celebrities," and streamer/influencer culture, if that's what you're getting at. The worst I had was some attitude from... a certain breed of OSR folk.
