D&D (2024) Which magic items are you hoping to see in the 2024 DMG?

With the debut of the 2024 DMG being less than two weeks away, I am sure that there are a number of us who are wondering about what kind of magic items are going to be in it. We're also going to be wondering if they'll be better or worse than their 2014 counterpart.

One particularly very rare magic item that I am hoping to see in the new DMG is the Oathbow. My current character and his party found this magic item entombed in ice within the lair of a White Dragon.

This magic item gives whoever attunes to it, the benefits of the Sharpshooter feat and the optional Rogue ability Steady Aim, minus their drawbacks. IMO, this magic item is very powerful and in the right character's hands, it can dish out a lot of damage. 😋 So, I am curious about whether or not, the new DMG will keep it as is or nerf it.

Apparatus of Kwalish

In fact, I want a Artificer splat book that is called Kwalish's guide to gizmos, where we meet the famed gnome since Greyhawk is now on limits and it would also be a great place for construct type monsters. :D

steal a little bit of Robert House from Fallout New Vegas for flavor and have fun.
This would be a neat way to introduce the Artificer to 2024 D&D. :)

I will never understand the adverseness for wierd technology in dnd when the first two settings (Blackmoor and Greyhawk) were legendary for it.

I remember a certain Ardraken's Refreshyment Simulacrum.

but getting back to the topic.

I want wierd stuff on the table that forces pcs to use their creativity to solve problems.

Like I once used a decanter of endless water as a jet pack, combined with boots of levitation to make one incredibly mobile kobold ranger sniper. :D

This reminded me of what the Artificer class in the Wizardry VIII game was capable of doing. Combining certain random items found throughout the game to produce certain items that they could then use against multiple opponents.

For instance, combing a doll with a box to create a Jack-in-the Box that could cast the Fear spell whenever you played it.

I don't have to wonder because I've got access to the DMG on DDB. It includes all the magic items from the 2014 DMG plus the following, most of which are the common items from Xanathar's:

Cauldron of Rebirth

Energy Bow
Enspelled Armor

It's also worth noting that the artifacts have all been mixed with the other items rather than being in a separate section.

The only change to the Oathbow for the 2024 version is that you can now sign the command word as an alternative to speaking it out loud.

Yeah I was hoping for more new items. It’s basically same same, but with some quality of life improvements (i.e. magic weapons and armours usually don’t specify the weapon/armour type).
