D&D 5E What's your favorite uncommon magic item?

Hey all!

I'm joining a new group and I am committed to creating a warrior of some kind. I will be at 4th level, and I was given more money to buy stuff than a first level character (enough to outfit myself in plate mail, IIRC). I also get to choose one uncommon magic item of my choice.

What do you guys recommend?

I don't own a DMG and I'm still pretty new to 5e. This doesn't have to be a power-item, but it should definitely be fun.

Thanks!!

Boots of Elvenkind combined with the Stealth skill (if the DM accepts that the reason for heavy armor disadvantage for stealth is sound, not visual).

I'm quite partial to the Bag of Tricks: if you need a distraction, summon an animal and let it roam free! Or if you simply need dinner...

You can see a list of them here, just set rarity to "uncommon" and hit enter. http://donjon.bin.sh/5e/magic_items/

For a warrior I would go with mariner's plate armor. That way you have a great AC and can swim in your armor.
Thank you!

This is definitely a possibility. The Greco-Roman pantheon is being used and I can have a backstory with my deity being Poseiden.

I'm leaning towards an Eldritch Knight, so an Amulet of Intellect is a possibility too.

Bag of Holding. It's the only magic item that I actually consider to be mandatory, in any edition.

As a bonus, this edition has styled the Bad as more of a purse-style thing, so it doesn't require a hand to carry!

FYI: the headband of intellect is a great choice IF you will be casting offensive spells.

Your spell selection is pretty limited. Many very good EK's get by with an 8 intelligence. Assuming this is point buy, of course.

If you will be wearing heavy armor (DEX based has its merits!), then the suggestion for Mariners plate is a very good one. Bag of holding is really good too. Immovable rod means your DM needs to allow you to be imaginative.

If you want to be a strength based fighter, you might want gauntlets of ogre power.

I'm going to second the immovable rod, if you want something flavorful as opposed to a stat/AC bump. They've got some truly wonderful possibilities. One of my favorite items of any rarity. :)
