D&D 5E What's up with Orcus?

I've seen the Rage of Demons trailer. I read Out of the Abyss. And I've seen the previews.

But where's Orcus' story? Where's the adventure or tale of Orcus taking over a Mind Flayer city? It's hinted at and teased, but doesn't seem to be detailed anywhere. And OotA doesn't direct you to places where this story might be.

I think that might be part of the story that is being focused on by a videogame - I have no confirmation, just my own suspicions as to why it would be in the trailer video for the storyline and not included in the table-top tie-in product.

Could also be in the novel. Or another computer game.

(I'd love to say it was in a Jim Zub-written comic, but alas we haven't seen any since the Baldur's Gate series).

I have a hunch that Orcus will be the big bad in the Rage of Demons DLC for Sword Coast Legends.

I was sooo pissed it sounded like the best part of the mod and it's not there... I wish they were clearer on what was going where.

I'm totally making my own version... where a group of adventurers kill an elder brain and loot the mind flayer vaults, then orcus raises the elder brain and uses it to try to make the flayers do a ritual to summon him to the prime... I'm making mind flayer vampires and whights and litches... maybe even a ghoul...

no just now got into my own mind a group of ghouls that want to eat the undead brains of the others... making it a civil war...

I think you're probably right. Neverwinter has Demogorgon, so Orcus in SCL seems most likely.

He was helping Alex set up his bar in Portland in August and was gonna come back but he had to go to Colorado for his aunt's funeral. Haven't heard from him in like 2 weeks. He posted a lotta Earl Sweatshirt on Facebook this morning though.

I hadn't heard Neverwinter was doing demogorgon. I knew the Rage of Demons expansion was their "stronghold" expansion but little else.

The update for the free-to-play MMORPG will see players battle against the two-headed Demogorgon, Demon Lord, alongside classic Dungeons & Dragons characters including Drizzt Do’Urden, Regis and Bruenor Battlehammer. Prior to tackling the new 10-player battle, Neverwinter players will take part in a special quest line written by New York Times Best-Selling Author, R.A. Salvatore, whose recently released novel Archmage kicks off the Rage of Demons story.

I never thought anything was up with Orcus. I rather think he is down in the abyss with undead horde and demons.
