What's best to multiclass with a Knight or Beguiler?

I'm going to be playing in a game where multiclassing is the general rule. I havent' decided on what new PHBII class to play yet, but I'm thinking Knight or Beguiler.

What would be the best multiclass for a knight? Probably not rogue b/c sneak attack, but other than that...

What would be the best multiclass for a beguiler?

Knight/paladin or knight/cleric seems pretty natural to me.

For a beguiler, a bard can also cast spells in the same armor and has a wider range of spell choices and some very different abilities. You could also go beguiler/rogue and spiff up that side of the character.

Knight + holy seems natural, but what about non-religious combo's like Knight/Hexblade, Knight /Soulknife or even Knight/Scout?

Don't most of those have abilities that don't function properly with heavy armor?

It seems a shame to waste heavy armor profiency.

Knight/Fighter is a fine combo. ACtually Knight/ranger is a great combo if you take only one level of ranger, it covers your weak saves and gives you some skillpoints.

Knight coupled with Cleric/Fighter/Paladin/ or any other Heavy Armor wearing class. Stripping the Heavy Armor from the knight for another class is just wasteful.

Beguiler (arcane) mixed with something like Archivist (divine, from Heroes of Horror) sets up the character very nicely for Mystic Theurge PRC, with a very diverse set of skills abilities and spell choices.

That would be one heck of an interesting character.

Yeah, tons of background goodness right there - I have to say I like!

Fighter actually seems like a great multi with Knight - you get a good fort and will save, tower shieldness, heavy armour and with the fighters battlefield control and the knights ability to slug it out for a LONG time, not to mention all those nice high level fighter feats in the PHBII, you have a combo made in heaven.

Seconded on Knight/Ranger. Have your animal companion be your horse. Pick an Fav Enemy that'd be appropriate, bearing in mind the spot/listen/sense motive bonuses you get against 'em - for a human knight, FE(Human) would seem perfect. Also as mentioned, boost to your weak saves, and a nice shot of skill points to boot.

What else.. Knight/Cleric or Knight/Paladin - or Knight/Cleric/PrC Paladin from UA if you're so inclined. Knight/Marshall could be cool. Knight/Sorcerer could be fun in the right circumstances.

Oh! For those lawful evil knights - Knight/Warlock. *nod*
