What's a scrag (and where do I find them)?

So I'm reading through Fiend's Embrace in last month's Dungeon, and it has several references to scrags, which it says are in the MM page 247. When I turn to MM 247, however, they're nowhere to be found, and I have no idea what they are.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Acquatic trolls like Diaglo said. They are listed under Trolls in the 3.5 Ed. Monster Manual I believe. They are also in the SRD under Trolls with a very short blurb.

I probably should have put page 248 as the reference for the scrag, since that's where the short paragraph that talks about them lives in the Monster Manual. But all their stats are more or less identical to normal trolls.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has problems when monsters have more than 1 name. Why not just call it a Marine Troll, so people know what it is.

(I'm just bitter because I spent ages trying to find out what a Hamatula was so I could use the Forcecage and Summon Monster VII trap on page 74 of the 3.5 DMG. Turns out its a Barbed Devil and the spell should have been Summon Monster IX.)

But it isn't the same creature- put a troll under water and it drowns. The same difference for merrows and koalinth (ogres and hobgoblins). Put a marine scrag in freshwater and it can't regenerate and visa versa for a freshwater scrag.

The main difference with a scrag in prior editions is that they only regenerate while in water.
