First Post
Hi all ^^

In d&d5 game, during the last scenario, my character, a unlucky arcane trickster, have lost his eyes and this tongue...

So I search somes solutions to continues to play, but very difficult. This two lost is a great crippling.

Are there a feat like 3.5 "blindsense" in 5th for give less vulnerability in conflict ?

The regenerate spell will help with that. So you might consider setting a goal for your character to find someone capable of casting such a powerful healing spell and perform a service (a new quest!) in exchange.

Failing that, I'd probably retire that character and bring a new character into play.

You need to find a third-level cleric, to cast Lesser Restoration, possibly twice. If your character is an arcane trickster, you're third level already, and so your party cleric should be able to set you up by the next day!

EDIT: seeing the post that came in just before mine: weirdly my solution (Lesser restoration) might work for the eyes (DM's call, obviously) but not for the tongue (which does seem to need the 7th level spell).

There is no "blindsense", thanks goodness. The best you're goign to do "feat-wise' is "Alert"...which I guess could be narrated/fluffed to be some kind of...Daredevil-esque "extra sense."

My immediate thought/more helpful/permanent solution, would be get thee to a cleric that can cast [former edition] "Restoration." 5e has broken this into Lesser /Greater spells instead of just one.

"Lesser Restoration" if you have a kind DM might work...but that's to restore a "condition" ("Blindness" is a condition, as by some temporary situation or spell effect). But for the actual loss of organs?...I would probably think you need "Greater Restoration" (a 5th level spell)to actually regrow organs...but even that is not, apparently [looking at the spell description], RAW. There is nothing in the spell description stipulating it regrows organs or severed limbs...which I am almost certain it did in prior editions.

Heal (6th level spell) should also work for this...at least I would rule so.

So get thee to a powerful cleric and get your eyes, at least, back.

"A creature with blindsight can perceive its surroundings without relying on sight, within a specific radius"

I would work with you to give you a magic item (attunable) that grants blindsight 30' radius. So you'd be great within 30', but suffer the effects of the blindness spell beyond that. That is to say, "A blinded creature can’t see, and automatically fails any ability check that requires sight".

Talk to your DM as I would see this as something that can be used in game. NPC comes to the character and says I can restore what is lost to you but I will need a favor, it is a quest, it will be dangerous...later the character awakes with...demon eyes and tongue of snake. :)

To me options are:
Regenerate spell for eyes.
Magical item that fully or partially negates penalty.
Find familiar spell and pick owl or something and have it sit on your shoulder and watch through its eyes constantly.
Selling half of your soul.
Retire and start to snort blow from hookers.
