What does "Fey Blood" mean?

Greenfield

As some of you may know, my main character in our current campaign is a Half Satyr/Elf.

I was just looking over the Half Satyr template to verify the racial type (no comment made at all in the write up I have available), and I noticed that one of the racial features is "Fey Blood".

I know that there are Fey Heritage feats, but this wasn't listed as a bonus feat. It just said Fey Blood.

What does that mean?

I'm fairly confident that this is akin to the "orc blood" in the half-orc entry, or the "elven blood" in the half-elf entry - that they count as a fey creature for all effects related to creature type.

This.

So for things like UMD when they need a specific race/type of Fey. Or for when a ranger has favoured enemy Fey. They are "fey" but not really. Just like half-elves are elves but not really, or half-orcs, w/e.

Some items can only be used by "fey". Clearly, the Half-Satyr qualifies under this reading.

There are some items that can only be created by "fey". Can my Half-Satyr qualify?

Per page 40 of Frostburn ('ere's yer RAW, right 'ere):

Fey Blood: Uldras are fey, and as such they are not subject to spells that specifically target humanoids, such as charm person or hold person. Likewise, effects that affect fey affect uldras as well. They possess no particular weakness against cold iron, although they find it uncomfortable to the touch, similar to the sensation of holding a rotting fish in your hand.

You should check out the Feykissed template and Fey Enticer prestige class in the BOEF, they may lend you some ideas for this character...

My character hardly needs such things. As a Half-Satyr, I've been playing him as a serious girl chaser and general party animal. He follows the god Baccus, and has points in "Perform - Seduction" (I don't own BoEF, so I didn't know about their version of the same thing). And when you realize that the Versatile Performer feat applies to that, it makes him incredibly good at getting laid.

And for the record, his name is Pendaclese (and yes, it means exactly what you think it does. :) )

Even so, we seldom bother to go into any detail on such matters. The oddity of "adult situations" is that actual adults don't need to go there. It's a character quirk and occasional story hook, not an ongoing dirty joke.

Actually the sections of BOEF I recommended are relatively "clean" and usable in a g-rated game. They just enhance and codify the supernatural abilities of a someone with fey blood.
