WereTurtle! WereCroc! WereDungbeetle!

Has anyone seen any non-mammalian lycanthropes statted? I think I could make them up from the info in the MM but it would really rock to have some non-mammalian lycanthropes around. I THINK I saw a were shark, but that is still not "It".

Imagine the bad guy growing a huge, hard shell.

Imagine the fun from an exothermic lycanthrope who had to stay warm.

You know, I don't think I have...

I've seen were-sharks, were-crocs, and were-eagles in other games/media, but I don't think I've ever seen statted-up non-mammal weres in a d20 book.

Then, my library of 3rd party books is far from extesive, so they're probably out there somewhere...

Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen stats for just a plain old turtle out there anywhere, either, which is too bad because a were-turtle would just be too much fun...

I'm avoiding making the obvious (to me) reference to a team of youg, Were-turtle monks, and their epic-level wererat Master, living in the sewers beneath a city. Fightin' ninjas. Won't even bring it up. Nope.

yes. in previous editions they had nonmammalian lycanthropes too.

I've used were-roaches before. VERY effective as a creeping-out-the-players tool.

PC, you wouldn't happen to have those stats handy, do you?

I just saw the template on WOTC and feelin' a bit lazy
about starting from scratch.

Much apprec!

Didn't the wereshark originally come from Ravenloft?

somewhere in 2E, there was a gnoll that turned into a giant hyena, although it wasn't strictly lycanthropy. In my own campaigns, I had lizardmen that could turn into giant lizards, bullywugs into giant frogs, sahuaguin that could turn into sharks... basically, their own versions of the disease. However, I didn't allow it to cross species lines into warm blooded creatures....
