Weapon Finesse and Weapon Focus

House Ruler
It's been awhile since I'v run 3e and I've a question that I think I've dealt with before but can't remember and can't find in the rules. I have a player who wants to take the short sword as weapon of choice and wants to apply both feats. Is there anything in the rules that says he can't do that? If so, where? Thanks.

I don't know why you would think the two were incompatable. I don't recall exactly what kind of bonus wpn focus is (probably competance), but Finness simply lets you subsitute your dex bonus to hit for your str bonus to hit. So there's no reason why they wouldn't stack.

As long as the PC is medium size or larger, this can be done. Since Weapon Finesse can only be taken with light weapons, so if the PC in question is a halfling or gnome, they're out of luck (when it comes to Finesse).

If they are medium sized, they can do this.

OK, thanks. Just some nagging idea the two were exclusive. Not a problem, just wanted to make sure before I said yea or nay. Thanks again. :D

Nevermind. :D
