D&D 5E Warcaster/Sentinel/War Ruby combo

So if you build a Sorlock I found a good synergy combo being Feat: Warcaster + Feat: Sentinel + Ruby of The Warmage makes it where you benefit from both feats capabilities. This is effective with hex blade divine soul Sorlock since your allys would be safest around you, Since the enemy can’t get away from you, andno one dies since you can heal. If you aren’t apart of AL I would also stack Cantrip: Booming Blade on top of that. Speaking of AL, can you get a Ruby of the Warmage in game or no?

IDK what the Ruby is, but I would like to remind you that Sentinel only stops movement if you hit with an opportunity attack, not spells/attacks that you get in place of opportunity attacks.

My bad I read that wrong, The Ruby I was talking about was a common magic item called Ruby of The Warmage which is in Xanathar’s guide to everything. The Ruby allows you to use a weapon of some kind such as a long sword as a spell casting focus. I’m going to try adventure league out and I don’t understand how you would get a magic item in it. I have heard of something called treasure points, but I have no idea what they are and how to get them.

Just keep in mind what I said about Sentinel + Warcaster. It wouldn't be fun if you put a bunch of time and effort into your build only to find it doesn't work properly.

So the reason why I wanted to try this out was because it makes a Sorlock build more interesting then getting Feat: Medium Armor Master or Feat: Heavily Armored. If you have an idea that would be a cooler feat combo to play let me know. I’m planning on playing a half-elf Sorlock since I want to be able to attack from a distant at the start of a battle then when the party is low on HP I run in with a sword in hand so I attack the enemy while I heal the party. Feat: Sentinel just sounds cool compared to other Feats.

A few questions.

1. Why are you making a Sorlock?
2. What is your level distribution for your sorlock for levels 1-10?
3. Increasing your primary stat is important - are you sure you want to give up progression there for feats?

Flaming Sphere + Sentinel seems interesting to me.
Mobile + Booming Blade does as well.

There aren't many interesting 2 feat combos in 5e that are worthwhile - unless you are talking max level characters.

The Distribution was going to 5 levels of sorcerer then 3 levels of warlock then the rest being sorcerer. Since I’m a half-elf I gain a +2 charisma meaning I start off with 17 charisma then at level 4 I get Elven Accuracy increasing it to 18 charisma. Then the next ability score increases the score to 20. That would mean I have two more ability score improvements later down the line.

The reason why I chose Sorlock was because I hate being limited as a spell caster to ranged so Hexblade gives you the ability to wear armor and use better weapons. You also can use your looks to fight. (Bad joke about using charisma for your attack rolls)
