D&D 5E War Mage and new wizard schools

A particular line in the description of the War Mage struck me as interesting, "...War Magic blends principles of evocation and abjuration, rather than specializing..."

The wizard already has more archetypes than any other class, and I don't think future official content should spend too much page space giving them more. However, this approach to conceiving new archetypes really opens the door for many possibilities. Take any two schools and create a hybrid.

I'm curious to hear if anyone has already used this as the basis for homebrew wizard schools, and also to hear some pitches about how specific combinations might play out. I'm not soliciting class feature mechanics or anything, though posters are welcome to submit them as they please.

I haven't created any traditions by combining schools, at least not intentionally. I've created some elemental themed schools which I guess would combine evocation and conjuration. I've also created some alternate features for the illusionist to create a shadow focused illusionist tradition.

I can only think of the following at the moment:

White Necromancy, blending abjuration and necromancy to create a tradition which protects against undead.
Witchcraft, blending enchantment and transmutation magic to create a tradition which beguiles and transforms their enemies.
