Wands range?

If you have a wand of cure light wounds, do you still have to touch the person? Ive played in 3 groups so far, and 2 of them point out the line that says "point the wand in the general direction of the subject" or some such, and as such, say that it has a farther range. The other group, the one i agree with, says that it doesnt change the range of the spell. so you still have to touch someone w/ a wand of cure light. Is there a ruling on this?

The range of the spell is unchanged.

So for Cure Light Wounds, you just wave the wand in the general direction of the subject... as long as they're within Range: Touch (and you succeed with a touch attack, if the subject is unwilling).

You could use the reach spell feat to make a ranged cure light wounds wand ... or any other wand for that matter. That's about it though.
