With these magic items which would be better for a Sorlock? Both would be nice to have but which is more common to find? Which would be better if you could choose to start with one, which would you choose? Are they worth it compared to sword with Ruby of the Warmage?

Like = I have read it.

It depends on how heavy warlock you are & how much your gm uses half cover

I would prefer the rod of the pact keeper, for sure. Ignoring half cover with your spell attacks is nice, but it can be duplicated with the spell sniper feat, whereas increasing your spell save DC is a very strong bonus that is not found on many (any?) other magic items. Additionally, getting an extra warlock spell slot as an action 1/long rest is quite powerful, even if all you do with that extra slot is turn it into Sorcery Points.

In adventure league play could you create a spear by taking Rod of the Pactkeeper and lengthening the rod and adding a spear head? What I mean is I want to take RotPk and add the length and blade of a spear to it. So I can have a spear and the rod in one hand so I can flip it round for the situation.

No. And I would be taking you aside and asking why are you trying to cheese the system. But keep up with the questions. You are making me think and do research.

Pact Keeper is IMHO better, but works only on Warlock spells. So it depends on where you get your most important Attack Spells from.
